    Your book is packed and sent by courier. The tracking number comes back to you in the same chat.

We never ask for payment, card numbers, passwords or one-time PINs. If anyone claiming to be from this programme asks you for those, it is not us.

Books belong in more Malaysian homes.

Baca Bersama is a Malaysian community initiative dedicated to promoting reading, education and access to books for families, students and communities across the country. We buy these titles in bulk, absorb the cost of printing and postage, and pass them on to whoever asks. That is the whole model.

There is nothing to buy afterwards. No subscription, no course, no paid membership, and no salesperson will call you about one. If a book turns out not to be for you, pass it to a friend or leave it at your nearest community library — that is rather the point.

Independent, not sponsored

The programme is paid for by the organiser. It is not endorsed by, or affiliated with, any government body or regulator.

Open to everyone

Any resident of Malaysia aged 18 and above may request a copy, in English or Bahasa Malaysia.

Who can request one
Residents of Malaysia aged 18 and above. One book per person and one per delivery address.
Where we deliver
Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan. We do not ship outside Malaysia.
How long it takes
7–14 working days within Peninsular Malaysia, and up to 21 working days for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, counted from the day your address is confirmed.
What it costs
RM0. No book price, no postage, no handling fee and no cash on delivery. We do not collect payment of any kind.
How copies are allocated
20,000 copies in total across the titles on offer, given out in the order requests come in. When a title runs out we will say so and offer you one of the others.
What we do with your details
Your name, phone number and address are used to post the book and nothing else. They are not sold or passed to advertisers. See the .

What we collect

To post a book to you we collect your name, WhatsApp number, delivery address and the title you chose. If you write to us by email we keep that message and your email address. We do not collect identity card numbers, payment details or passwords, and you should never send them to us.

Why we collect it

Solely to check eligibility, pack and deliver your book, sort out a delivery problem, and answer your questions. We also keep a simple count of copies sent so we know when a title has run out.

Who we share it with

Your name, phone number and address are given to the courier that delivers your parcel, because that is how a parcel arrives. Beyond that we do not sell, rent or trade your details, and we do not pass them to advertisers or any other third party.

How long we keep it

Delivery records are kept for twelve months after your book is sent, then deleted. Email correspondence is kept for twenty-four months.

Your rights under the PDPA 2010

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@bacabersama.my and we will respond within twenty-one days.

Cookies

This page uses no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. Any storage used by the browser is limited to keeping the page working.

Security

Records are held on access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep as little as we can and delete it on the schedule above.

An information page for a free book distribution programme run by Baca Bersama Media Sdn. Bhd. It is not a shop, a membership service or an advisory service, and no transaction takes place on it.

Using the page properly

Please do not submit false details, request copies on behalf of people who have not asked, use automated tools to make bulk requests, or attempt to interfere with the page or the systems behind it. We may decline a request that appears to breach this.

Text, images and layout on this page belong to Baca Bersama Media Sdn. Bhd. or are used with permission. Book titles and cover designs shown are illustrative of the editions being distributed. You may not reproduce the page or its assets commercially without written permission.

Availability

We aim to keep the page available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, pause or end the programme, and may amend these terms, at any time; the current version always sits on this page.

Where we link elsewhere, we are not responsible for the content or the practices of those sites.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Applies to the 20,000-copy distribution

Who may request a copy

Residents of Malaysia aged 18 and above. Employees of the organiser and their immediate family are not eligible.

Limits

One book per person and one per delivery address. Requests that appear to be duplicates may be set aside.

Quantity and allocation

20,000 copies in total across the titles on offer. Copies are allocated in the order requests are received. When a title is exhausted we will tell you and offer one of the remaining titles; we cannot guarantee that a specific title will still be available at the time you write in.

Cost

The book and its delivery are free. There is no book price, postage, handling charge, deposit or cash-on-delivery amount. We will never ask you to pay anything, and we will never ask for card numbers, passwords or one-time PINs.

Where and when we deliver

Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan only. Expect 7–14 working days within Peninsular Malaysia and up to 21 working days for East Malaysia, counted from the day your address is confirmed. Courier delays, public holidays and incorrect addresses can extend this.

Undelivered parcels

If a parcel comes back because the address was wrong or nobody could receive it, we will contact you once on WhatsApp. If we do not hear back within fourteen days the copy goes back to the programme for another reader.

Substitution and withdrawal

Books are given as they are and cannot be exchanged for cash or another item. The organiser may substitute a title of a similar subject, or end the programme early, if supply or circumstances require it.

No purchase, no obligation

Requesting a book creates no obligation of any kind. You are not signing up to a service, a course or a mailing list, and accepting a book does not enrol you in anything.
